About Thw Trace Lava Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) Reference Intervals
- On June 29, 2020, the reference intervals and interpretive comments that accompany the HTMA reports were updated.
- Trace Element Laboratories upgraded their instrumentation to two state-of-the-art Perkin Elmer Nexion 1000 ICP-MS systems.
- To comply with regulatory standards, extensive method validation studies were performed to ensure results obtained with the new instrumentation are accurate and comparable to those obtained with the previous ICP-MS systems.
- These validation studies included a new reference interval study.
- As with the previous reference intervals established in 2000, these new ranges reflect the average analyte concentration ± 2 standard deviations for a population of normal “healthy” individuals.
